Family RV TripEven the biggest RVs have very limited storage space, especially when traveling with a big family. But a little bit of organization goes a long way toward making a small space more comfortable. Below are some tips and tricks we've acquired to assist you with organizing your RV.
  • Attach remote controls to side tables, walls or cabinets with Velcro.
  • Use hanging organizers with plastic windows on the backs of the front car seats, as bedside storage and in closets for odds and ends. Hanging magazine organizers can be used for books and larger supplies.
  • Food packaging takes up a lot of space. Instead, pour dry goods into stacking sealable containers.
  • Hanging a pegboard in the kitchen is a great way to use vertical space to store cooking utensils. You can also use magnetic wall strips to hang knives, spices and more.
  • Hang a shelving system above the kitchen sink.
  • Large, long items — such as brooms, baseball bats and more — can be mounted to the ceiling with brackets to save closet space.
  • Buy lamps, clocks and other electronics with extra plug outlets in the base so you can easily charge up phones and tablets.
  • Use repositionable adhesive hooks almost anywhere. They can be used to hold bathroom hand towels, in the closet to hold clothes or accessories, inside of cabinets to hold cleaning supplies or utensils, by the door to hold jackets and almost anywhere you can think of.
  • Hang a rod-doubler in the closet and make use of airtight storage bags that you don't need a vacuum cleaner to seal.
